About Dr. Prakash
His coaching philosophy is based on a deep-seated belief that each person holds the key for his or her success, whether in work, business or relationships. Along with formal psychology models and proven coaching techniques, he uses reflection, journeying, relaxation, yoga and meditation for healing and balance.
Dr. Prakash has a long and distinguished career in psychology and coaching. Prior to 1982, he served as a Director of Behavior Therapy at North Texas State Hospital and consultant to the Adolescent & Children Unit. He established his private practice in clinical psychology in 1983 and specialized in a broad range of mental health issues and problems in individuals and corporate groups. Since 2003, he has focused his practice on specialized coaching and mentoring services.
He is well-known in the media through his weekly columns and presentations in regional newspapers and television. He is a member of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Prakash holds a BS in Physics and Mathematics from Delhi University, an MS in Psychology from Muslim University in Aligarh, an MA in Educational Psychology from University of Minnesota, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Montana. He has received extensive Mentor Coaching training from Mentor Coach LLC.

Dr.Prakash met Magan in July, 2009 for a routine interview which led to the start of cordial relationship culminating in her wanting to experience coaching for her sleep difficulties. As she went through three coaching sessions, she felt that she would like to create a cover story on the life and work of Dr.Prakash as well as documenting her own experiences,to which Dr. Prakash gracefully agreed. This article is the result of a series of interviews with Dr. Prakash totalling nine and half hours plus interviews with one of Dr. Prakash's brother who lives in California and two of his local clients, totaling four and half hours extended over three months.The article was published in the September 23, 2009, 'Best of Dallas:We Can Do

Shelly Slater, reporter/ anchor of ABC TV station, Channel 8 in Dallas, Texas, interviewed Dr. Prakash as a part of her series on ' Aging in America,' and asked about his views on graceful aging and how meditation plays a part in it. She also asked him how his work in Gandhi's freedom movement influenced his decision to become a community organizer and later a health care provider. She experienced meditation during this presentation.
